VoIP phone systems · 8

It is a business phone system that runs over your internet connection and lives in the cloud rather than in a box on the wall. You get desk phones, softphone apps or both, with features such as hunt groups, an auto-attendant, voicemail sent to your email and call recording. There is no PABX hardware to buy or maintain.

About VoIP phone systems

Any business that takes calls, from a two-person trade office to a multi-site company with a reception and call queues. It suits teams that work from more than one place, because the same system and numbers follow staff to the office, home or a job site.

About VoIP phone systems

Per user per month, with the rate published on our Pricing page. There are no hidden fees for features that most systems charge extra for, and no lock-in contract. Desk phones can be purchased outright or supplied as part of the service. Your Metroway Rewards discount applies to the monthly bill.

About VoIP phone systems

Yes. Australian numbers can be ported between providers, so your main number, direct lines and 1300 or 1800 numbers move across to the new system. We manage the port with your current provider and time the cutover so calls are not missed. Do not cancel your old service until the port is complete.

About VoIP phone systems

A stable internet connection and a network set up to give voice traffic priority. We check your connection and configure your router or UniFi network so calls stay clear even when someone is downloading a large file. If you are a Metroway nbn or business-grade nbn customer this is already covered.

About VoIP phone systems

Desk phones need both power and internet, so they stop during an outage unless you have battery backup or a 4G/5G failover. The system itself keeps running in the cloud, so calls can be answered on the softphone app on staff mobiles, or routed to a mobile number or voicemail automatically until the office is back.

About VoIP phone systems

Yes, 000 calls work on a VoIP service. The location sent to emergency services may rely on the registered address for the service rather than where the phone is physically being used, so if you move the phones, tell us so the address is updated. For mobile staff using the softphone, their mobile handset is the better way to call 000.

About VoIP phone systems

A new system with new numbers can be live within days once we have your call flow and user list. Porting existing numbers takes longer because it depends on your current provider, so we run the new system alongside the old one and switch when the port completes. Message us or call 1800 69 00 81 and we will map out your call flow with you.

Metroway nbn (100 / 500 / 750 / 1000 / 2000) · 8

It is an nbn internet service for homes and businesses in Western Australia, sold in five tiers: nbn 100, 500, 750, 1000 and 2000. The connection itself runs on the nbn network like any other provider. The difference is who looks after you. The same local Perth team that configures your router, your WiFi and your wiring also answers the phone when the internet plays up, so there is no one to be bounced between.

nbn 100 suits most households and small offices with streaming, video calls and a few devices. nbn 500 and above suit larger households, home workers moving big files, and businesses with many people online at once. The fastest tier you can order depends on your address and connection type, so tell us what you do online and we will recommend the right one rather than the most expensive one.

It depends on your nbn connection type. Tiers above nbn 100 generally need Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) or HFC. If you are on Fibre to the Node (FTTN) or Fibre to the Curb (FTTC), you may be eligible for a free nbn fibre upgrade when you order a higher-speed plan. Message us or call 1800 69 00 81 with your address and we will check what is available.

Plan prices for every tier are published on our Pricing page, with no setup surprises and no hidden fees. There is no lock-in contract on any tier, so you can move up or down a tier or leave at any time. Your Metroway Rewards status applies to your nbn bill as well, so the discount grows the longer you stay and the more services you have with us.

If your premises already has an active nbn connection, switching to Metroway is usually quick and you can keep using your current service until the changeover. A new connection or a fibre upgrade needs an nbn technician appointment, which can take longer depending on nbn availability in your area. We give you a realistic date when you order and keep you posted.

The nbn needs a compatible modem or router, and the right one depends on your connection type and the tier you choose. We supply and configure Ubiquiti UniFi routers and WiFi as a Ubiquiti partner, or we can check whether your existing equipment is suitable. Either way it arrives configured and we make sure your WiFi can actually deliver the speed you are paying for.

No. Your nbn connection box and router need power, so the internet drops when the power does unless you have a battery backup. We can fit a small UPS for your network gear, and for premises that need to stay online we can add a 4G/5G backup that takes over automatically.

Yes. nbn sits on your Metroway365 bill alongside your phone, mobile, IT support and electrical work, so you get one monthly bill from one provider instead of several. Each service you add counts toward your Metroway Rewards tier, which lowers the price of all of them.

Softphone · 8

A softphone is an app on your computer or mobile that works as your business phone. It uses your business number, so when you call a customer they see the company number, not your personal mobile. It includes transfer, presence so you can see who is free, and call history across your devices.

About Softphone

Staff who are not at a desk all day: tradespeople, sales reps, consultants, anyone working from home, and businesses that do not want desk phones at all. It is also handy as a second device alongside a desk phone, so a call to your extension rings on your mobile when you are away from the desk.

About Softphone

The softphone is one way of using our VoIP phone system, so it is priced the same per user per month and works alongside desk phones on the same system. A business can run entirely on softphones with no desk phones if that suits the way it works.

About Softphone

Windows and Mac computers and iPhone and Android mobiles. It uses whatever internet the device has, so WiFi at home or in the office, or the mobile data on your phone when you are out. A headset makes a difference on the computer version and we can recommend one.

About Softphone

Calls travel over the internet, so on WiFi they use no mobile credit. Away from WiFi the app uses a small amount of your mobile data rather than your call allowance. Your personal number is never shown to the customer and the business keeps the call records.

About Softphone

Yes. Your extension and the business number are tied to your login, not a location, so the same number works at the office, at home or on the road. Colleagues can transfer calls to you wherever you are and see whether you are on a call.

About Softphone

Call quality follows the connection, so a weak WiFi signal or congested internet can make calls choppy. On a mobile the app can fall back to 4G or 5G data. If working from home is a regular thing, we can look at your home nbn and WiFi too, since we are an internet provider as well as a phone provider.

About Softphone

It appears as part of your phone system on your single Metroway365 bill with any nbn, mobile or IT services you have with us. Adding your phone system to the services you already have with us moves you toward a higher Metroway Rewards tier, which discounts every invoice.

About Softphone

Business-grade nbn with service guarantee · 8

It is an nbn connection built on the business products nbn offers, with an enhanced service level, priority fault restoration and static IP addresses. A standard plan is fixed on a best-effort basis. A business-grade service is restored on a committed timeframe and is monitored, so a fault is noticed and worked on quickly rather than waiting for someone to report it.

Any business where being offline costs money: medical and allied health practices, retail with card payments, offices running cloud systems and VoIP phones, and sites that host their own systems. If a few hours without internet means staff sent home or customers turned away, the service guarantee pays for itself the first time it is needed.

It covers how quickly a fault is attended to and restored, with priority over residential services on the nbn network. We do not promise a specific uptime percentage, and we are wary of anyone who does. What we promise is that faults get priority restoration, that we monitor the link, and that the people fixing it are the same people who know your network.

A static IP address does not change, which matters if you run a VPN for remote staff, host a server, use a security camera system you access from outside, or have a vendor who whitelists your office address. Static IPs are included with business-grade nbn rather than charged as an add-on.

Pricing is published on our Pricing page and depends on the speed tier and the service level you choose. There are no hidden fees and the price you see is the price you pay. Your Metroway Rewards discount applies, and if you are an ACNC-registered not-for-profit you receive Platinum pricing from day one.

If the premises already has nbn, the switch to a business-grade service is usually straightforward. A new fibre connection or an upgrade needs nbn to attend, which can take a few weeks depending on your area. If you are moving into new premises, message us or call early and we will line up the connection so it is ready for the move.

We recommend it for most businesses. Even with priority restoration there is a gap between a fault and the fix, and a 4G/5G backup keeps card payments, phones and cloud systems running during that gap. The router we supply switches over automatically and switches back when the nbn returns.

Very well. When one team looks after your internet, your network, your phones and your computers, a problem is diagnosed once rather than passed around. Everything appears on one Metroway365 bill, and having more solutions with us moves you up the Metroway Rewards tiers.

Mobile · 7

Mobile plans for individuals and businesses on a major Australian mobile network, with pricing published on our Pricing page. You get the coverage of a national network with support from a local Perth team who know you by name, rather than a call centre.

About Mobile

Yes. Australian mobile numbers can be ported between providers, so you keep your number when you move to Metroway. Keep your old service active until we confirm the port has completed, and the changeover is usually quick once it starts.

About Mobile

No lock-in contract on the plan itself, and you can change plans as your usage changes. If you choose a handset through us, we will be clear about how it is paid for before you sign anything. The published price is the price, with no hidden fees.

About Mobile

Yes. Most phones bought in Australia are unlocked and will work with a new SIM. We can also supply handsets for businesses, set them up with email and the softphone app, and manage them as part of your IT so a lost phone can be locked remotely.

About Mobile

We set up a business account with all services on one Metroway365 bill, grouped by staff member or cost centre. New starters get a service quickly, and when someone leaves the number can be reassigned or kept. It pairs well with the softphone app so staff carry one device for personal and business calls.

About Mobile

Yes, through Metroway Rewards. Your tier depends on how long you have been with us and either your yearly spend or the number of solutions you have, so adding mobile to your nbn, phone system or IT support can lift you to the next tier. Pensioner Concession Card holders receive Gold pricing on residential services from the start.

About Mobile

International roaming is available on our plans. Roaming is charged differently to domestic use, so message us or call before you travel and we will explain the options and set up what you need so there are no surprises on your bill.

About Mobile

4G/5G cellular (primary or backup) · 8

It is broadband delivered over the mobile network rather than a fixed line. A router with a SIM card picks up the 4G or 5G signal and shares it as WiFi and ethernet, the same as an nbn router would. It can be your main connection or sit quietly as a backup that only takes over when the nbn goes down.

Three groups mainly. Premises where the nbn is slow or not yet available, including some outer suburbs and regional WA. Businesses that need to stay online through an nbn outage. And anyone who needs internet quickly, such as a new office, a site shed or a pop-up shop, since there is no waiting for an nbn appointment.

The router we supply watches the nbn connection. If it stops responding, traffic moves to the cellular link within moments and most people do not notice. When the nbn comes back, the router switches back so you are not using mobile data longer than needed. We set this up and test it before we leave.

It depends on your location, the signal strength and how busy the local tower is, so speed varies more than a fixed line does. Where 5G coverage is strong it can be very capable as a main connection. We check coverage at your address and, where it matters, test a router on site before you commit.

Monthly pricing for primary and backup plans is on our Pricing page with no lock-in contract. Backup plans cost less because they carry little data most of the month. There are no hidden fees, and your Metroway Rewards status discounts the plan like every other invoice.

A 4G/5G router, which we supply and configure, and in some locations an external antenna to improve the signal. If the cellular link is a backup for an existing network, it connects to your current router or UniFi gateway. We can also run the antenna cabling and any power points needed, since our team includes licensed electricians.

Only if the router has power. The mobile towers usually keep running, so a cellular router on a small battery backup is one of the few ways to stay online during a blackout. We can fit a UPS that keeps the router and your phones running for the duration of a typical outage.

Yes, and it is the combination we suggest for most businesses. The nbn plan and the backup appear on the same Metroway365 bill, and we support both, so there is no working out whose fault an outage is. Adding it also counts as another solution toward your Metroway Rewards tier.

Landline replacement · 8

The old copper phone network is being switched off as the nbn is rolled out, so traditional landlines stop working. Landline replacement moves your existing phone number onto a modern VoIP service that runs over your internet connection. You keep the same number, calls work the same way, and there is no copper line rental.

About Landline replacement

Yes. Australian numbers can be ported between providers, so your long-standing home or business number comes across to the new service. We handle the port and let you know when it is complete. Do not cancel the old line yourself, as that can release the number before we have it.

About Landline replacement

Usually yes. An adapter plugs your existing corded or cordless phone into your router so it works as before, with the same dial tone and ring. If your handset is on its way out, we can supply a new one that connects directly without an adapter.

About Landline replacement

A monthly price published on our Pricing page, with no copper line rental and no lock-in contract. For most households it costs less than the old landline did. Your Metroway Rewards status applies, and Pensioner Concession Card holders receive Gold pricing on residential services.

About Landline replacement

A working internet connection and a router with the adapter plugged in. If you do not yet have internet, we can set up Metroway nbn or a 4G/5G service at the same time. We come out, connect it, test the dial tone and incoming calls, and make sure it works before we leave.

About Landline replacement

Not on its own. A VoIP phone needs the router and adapter to have power, so the line goes down when the power does unless you have a battery backup. For anyone who relies on the phone, we can fit a small UPS, and a mobile phone remains the most reliable way to call 000 during a blackout.

About Landline replacement

Yes, 000 works on the replacement service. The location passed to emergency services may rely on the registered address rather than where the phone is actually being used, so tell us if you move house so the address stays current.

About Landline replacement

Many older medical alarms and security alarms were designed for the copper line and may not work over VoIP. We check what is connected during the install and talk to you about options, which may mean an alarm with its own mobile connection. Because our team covers telecommunications, electrical and IT, it is one visit and one bill rather than three companies.
