Domain management · 6
Registering and renewing your domain names, such as yourbusiness.com.au, and hosting the DNS records that point your website and email to the right places. We make the changes for you and keep the renewals from lapsing, which is how businesses lose their domain or email overnight.
Yes. We transfer it into our management with you still as the registered owner. The domain stays yours. Nothing goes offline during the transfer when it is planned properly, and we check the DNS records before and after.
Domains are priced per year with starting-from prices on our Pricing page, and the price varies by extension, for example .au, .com.au or .com. DNS hosting and record changes are included. There are no hidden fees.
They are DNS records that tell other mail servers which systems are allowed to send email as your domain. Without them your email is more likely to land in spam and criminals can send fake invoices in your name. We set them up as part of domain management and check them when you add a new mail or marketing service.
Most changes are made the same business day and take effect within an hour or so, though some changes take longer to spread across the internet. If you are launching a website or moving email, tell us the date and we plan the changes around it.
Yes, when something breaks it is one call rather than three providers pointing at each other. Metroway handles your domains, web hosting and Microsoft 365 email together on one Metroway365 bill, and each is another solution toward your Metroway Rewards tier.
Cameras · 6
High-resolution UniFi Protect cameras recording to a local recorder on your premises, with secure viewing and alerts on your phone. Metroway is a Ubiquiti UniFi partner. Cameras are cabled rather than wireless, so they are reliable and do not slow your WiFi.
No. Footage is recorded locally on your own recorder, so there is no subscription for storage and your footage stays on your premises. Remote viewing from your phone is included.
Residential systems have starting-from installed prices on our Pricing page, and commercial sites are quoted per site after a visit. The quote covers cameras, recorder, cabling and setup, fixed in writing with no hidden fees.
Licensed electricians, either Metroway or our licensed partner contractors, run the cabling and connect the power. Metroway holds an electrical contractor licence, so there is no separate electrician to arrange.
Yes. UniFi Protect detects people, vehicles and other movement separately, so you can be alerted about a person at the back door at night without a notification every time a car drives past. We set the zones and rules up with you.
Often yes, if the network is sound. Where the WiFi or switching is not up to it we will say so, and a UniFi network, cameras and door access installed together work as one system in one app. Each counts as a solution toward your Metroway Rewards tier, and everything sits on one Metroway365 bill.
Home WiFi · 6
Usually because one router is trying to cover the whole home through brick walls, double-brick, slabs and metal. The signal weakens with every wall. Plug-in repeaters halve your speed and make it worse. The fix is proper access points placed where they work, connected by cable.
We survey your home, work out how many access points you need and where, run data cable to each one, and set up the network with a guest network and parental controls if you want them. We use Ubiquiti UniFi equipment, which we partner with, so you get business-grade gear that is still easy to live with.
Starting-from installed prices are on our Pricing page and the exact figure depends on the size of the home and how many access points and cable runs are needed. We quote fixed in writing after the survey, with no hidden fees.
Yes, for the best result. Cabled access points give full speed everywhere and never drop out the way wireless meshes do. Our installers are used to roof spaces and double-brick homes, and because Metroway also holds an electrical contractor licence, any work near power is done by licensed electricians.
Yes, with any nbn or mobile broadband connection. If you take Metroway nbn as well, the connection and the WiFi come from one team, so when something is slow there is only one number to call and no provider blaming the other. Both sit on one Metroway365 bill.
Yes, and that is a good reason to do the network first. UniFi cameras and door access use the same network and the same app, and smart lighting and climate rely on solid WiFi. Each solution you add moves you up the Metroway Rewards tiers, from Bronze to Platinum, for a bigger discount on every bill.
Devices and hardware · 6
Business-grade laptops, desktops, servers, monitors, printers, docking stations and accessories from the major manufacturers. We recommend what suits the job rather than what is on special, and we will tell you when a cheaper option is perfectly fine.
The device arrives set up with your apps, accounts, printers and security, so you open the lid and start working. We keep the records, so when something fails we handle the warranty claim and replacement for you. One bill, one point of contact, and no afternoon lost to setup.
Hardware is quoted per device, in writing, with the setup time shown separately so you can see exactly what you are paying for. Prices follow the market and the quote is fixed once you accept it.
Common laptops and desktops are often available within a few business days. Servers and specialised equipment take longer. We give you the expected date on the quote and keep you posted if the supplier changes it.
Yes. Files, email, browser bookmarks and most applications are transferred as part of the setup, and the old machine is wiped securely if you want it disposed of. For Microsoft 365 users most of this happens by signing in, which makes the changeover quick.
For businesses replacing several machines, bundling hardware with Managed IT spreads the cost monthly on one Metroway365 bill and keeps every device on a replacement cycle. Hardware spend also counts toward your yearly total for Metroway Rewards, so the discount on your next invoice grows.
Endpoint protection (EDR) · 7
EDR stands for endpoint detection and response. Traditional antivirus looks for known bad files. EDR also watches how programs behave on your computer, so it can stop new or disguised threats, roll back ransomware damage and isolate an infected device from the network before the problem spreads.
Every computer and server, at home or at work. Homes are targeted by scams and ransomware just as businesses are. For businesses, application control and malware protection are part of the Australian Cyber Security Centre Essential Eight, and insurers and larger clients increasingly ask for proof of it.
It is priced per device per month and the current rate is on our Pricing page. There is no setup fee and devices can be added or removed as your needs change. Managed IT customers should check their package, as some include it.
We do. Alerts come to Metroway, we review them and we contact you if action is needed. You are not left with a dashboard full of warnings to interpret yourself.
Modern EDR is light on resources and runs quietly in the background. Most people do not notice it is there. If a particular program is being blocked or slowed, we tune the policy rather than turning protection off.
The device is isolated automatically so the threat cannot reach anything else, ransomware changes can be rolled back, and we clean the device and investigate how it got in. If you also have Metroway backup, we restore anything that cannot be recovered. We then explain what happened in plain English.
EDR, backup and Microsoft 365 security are designed to work together and they all sit on one Metroway365 bill. Each additional solution counts toward your Metroway Rewards tier, so a customer with several services with us pays less on every invoice than one buying each piece separately.
Managed IT (ongoing) · 7
Managed IT is an ongoing service where we look after your computers, servers and accounts every day for a fixed monthly fee. We monitor and patch every device, run the help desk and send you a monthly report on issues, updates and licences. Ad-hoc support fixes a problem after it has happened. Managed IT is designed to stop most problems happening in the first place.
Businesses, not-for-profits and government organisations in Western Australia that rely on their systems but do not want to employ their own IT department. It suits anything from a handful of staff to several hundred. If you are a home user, our ad-hoc and remote support options are the better fit.
There are four packages, Basic, Plus, Premium and Ultra, each priced per user per month. The starting-from prices are published on our Pricing page, and we quote the exact figure in writing before anything starts. There are no hidden fees, and we offer a free consultation to work out which package fits.
Monitoring and patching of every PC, Mac and server, help desk by phone, email and remote session, and a monthly report on what we fixed, what we updated and which licences you hold. Remote support is included rather than charged by the quarter hour. What differs between Basic, Plus, Premium and Ultra is how much security, backup and on-site time is bundled in.
The help desk is staffed during business hours and most issues are resolved remotely the same day. After-hours cover depends on the package you choose. We would rather show you how we work in a free consultation than promise a number on a page, so message us or call 1800 69 00 81.
Yes, and that is the point of Metroway. We are the only true technology company in WA that also does telecommunications and licensed electrical work, so your IT, nbn, phone system, cabling and switchboard can all come from one team. Everything lands on one Metroway365 bill, and each extra solution lifts your Metroway Rewards tier for a bigger discount on every invoice.
No. Managed IT is billed monthly and the terms are set out in plain English before you sign. Your Metroway Rewards tier grows the longer you stay, so loyalty is rewarded with a discount rather than enforced with a lock-in.
Web hosting · 6
Hosting on Australian servers, an SSL certificate so your site shows the padlock, daily backups, software updates and uptime monitoring. We handle the technical maintenance so your website stays fast, secure and online without you thinking about it.
Your site loads faster for Australian visitors, your data stays under Australian law, and support is in your time zone. For government and regulated customers, local hosting is often a requirement rather than a preference.
It is priced per month with starting-from prices on our Pricing page. The right plan depends on the size of your site and its traffic. The price includes SSL and backups, with no hidden fees.
Yes. We copy the site, test it on the new server, then switch the DNS so visitors move across without downtime. If we also manage your domain, the whole move is done by one team with nothing to coordinate.
Uptime monitoring alerts us if your site stops responding, and we restore from the daily backup if it has been damaged or compromised. We then work out how it happened, usually an out-of-date plugin, and fix the cause rather than only the symptom.
Our focus is hosting and keeping sites healthy. If you need a site built or redesigned we can recommend a partner and host the result. Hosting, domains and email together on one Metroway365 bill keeps your online presence with one point of contact.
Door, gate and garage access · 6
Open doors, gates and garage doors from your phone, give family, staff or trades their own codes or cards, and see a log of who came and went. Intercoms let you see and speak to visitors before letting them in. We use UniFi Access for doors and gates, which works alongside UniFi cameras in the same app.
Usually, yes. Most gate and garage motors have a trigger input we can connect to. We check the model during the site visit and tell you if anything needs replacing before we quote.
Residential installs have starting-from prices on our Pricing page and commercial sites are quoted per site. The written quote covers the readers, locks, intercom, cabling and setup with no hidden fees.
Locks and readers keep working on their stored codes and cards, and doors are set to fail safely in the way your building requires. You lose remote control and notifications until the internet returns. Controllers can be backed up with a small battery for outages.
Yes. Electric strikes, maglocks, gate motors and power supplies involve wiring that must be done by a licensed electrician in Western Australia. Metroway holds an electrical contractor licence, so our electricians or our licensed partner contractors do that work as part of the install.
Yes. UniFi Access and UniFi Protect share one network and one app, so a doorbell press shows the camera view and an unlock is recorded with footage. Doing both in one visit saves on cabling and call-outs, and the extra solution raises your Metroway Rewards tier.
Gateways, WiFi and cabling (UniFi) · 6
A UniFi gateway, switches and access points sized for your premises, plus structured data cabling that is patched, labelled and tested. We separate staff, guests and devices such as printers and cameras onto their own networks so a problem on one cannot touch the others.
Ubiquiti UniFi gives business-grade performance and central management at a fair price, and Metroway is a UniFi partner. The same platform covers your network, cameras and door access, so one dashboard and one app run the building. It also scales from a single shop to a multi-site organisation.
Networks are quoted per site after a survey, with equipment, cabling and setup itemised so you can see each part. The quote is fixed in writing before work starts and there are no hidden fees.
Cabling is done around your trading hours where possible, and the switch to the new network is planned for a quiet time. Most small sites are completed in a day or two. We confirm the schedule with you before we begin.
Yes. Metroway does telecommunications work and holds an electrical contractor licence, so the cabling, the power for the rack and the network equipment are all installed by one team, with any power work done by licensed electricians. You do not need to coordinate a cabler, an electrician and an IT company.
Managed IT customers get the network monitored and supported as part of their package. Otherwise support is available ad-hoc at the published business rate. Equipment, internet and support all appear on one Metroway365 bill.
Software and licensing · 6
Microsoft 365 and most business subscriptions, including security, accounting, design and industry software. We hold the licences on your behalf, set them up and keep them on one bill so you are not managing a dozen renewals and logins.
You can, and sometimes we will suggest it. Buying through Metroway means one invoice, licences that match what you actually use, and someone who notices when a renewal is coming or a licence sits unused. When a vendor changes its plans or pricing, we translate what it means for you.
Licences are priced individually at the vendor rate, with Microsoft 365 plan prices on our Pricing page. We do not add hidden margins, and for larger counts the price is quoted in writing before anything is ordered.
Tell us and we add or remove the licence, set up or close the account, and transfer any files or mailbox that need keeping. For Microsoft 365 this is usually done the same business day.
Many subscriptions offer a monthly or an annual term, and annual terms are usually cheaper per month. We explain the difference and recommend whichever suits your staffing. Where a vendor requires a fixed term, we say so clearly before you commit.
Metroway365 is our single monthly bill for every Metroway service, and licences sit on it alongside your IT support, internet, phones and any electrical work. Fewer suppliers means fewer bills and fewer surprises, and more solutions with us means a higher Metroway Rewards tier.
24/7 managed detection (MDR/MXDR) · 6
MDR is a security operations team watching your systems around the clock, hunting for threats and responding to them. MXDR extends that beyond computers to email, cloud accounts, identities and network devices. It is the layer above endpoint protection for organisations that cannot afford to find out about a breach on Monday morning.
EDR is the software on each device that detects and blocks threats. MDR adds people. Analysts review what the software sees, join the dots across devices and accounts, and act on threats at 2am on a Sunday when nobody in your office is awake. Most MDR customers also have EDR, as it is the main source of the signals the team watches.
Commercial and enterprise customers, including government, with data they cannot afford to lose or systems that must stay up. It is also for organisations whose insurers, auditors or clients expect 24-hour monitoring. For smaller businesses, EDR with Metroway reviewing alerts is usually sufficient and we will tell you if that is the case.
It is priced per device per month with starting-from prices on our Pricing page, and we quote the exact figure in writing after a free consultation. Pricing is standardised, so you pay the same published rate as every other customer of your size.
The security operations team contains it, for example by isolating a device or disabling a compromised account, so it cannot spread across the network. We then contact you, investigate how it happened and send an incident report written in plain English. We do not promise a response time in minutes on a web page, but we are happy to explain the process in detail.
It supports several of the Australian Cyber Security Centre Essential Eight strategies, particularly detecting misuse of privileged access, monitoring patching gaps and responding to malware. It does not replace the controls themselves, which is why we usually pair it with Metroway patching, EDR, MFA and backup.
Ad-hoc support · 6
Pay-as-you-go IT help for one-off jobs: a new computer set up, a printer that will not print, email or WiFi problems, or an upgrade. There is no contract and no monthly fee. You pay for the time it takes, remotely or on site across the Perth metro area.
Residential customers pay $33 per 15 minutes inc GST and businesses pay $44 per 15 minutes inc GST. Remote sessions have a 30 minute minimum and on-site visits have a 1 hour minimum. The rates are published on our Pricing page and there are no call-out or hidden fees on top.
Yes. Weekday evenings and Saturdays are charged at 1.5 times the standard rate. Sundays, public holidays and 10pm to 6am are charged at 2 times. We will tell you which rate applies before we start.
Most problems can be looked at remotely the same day, which is why we suggest starting with a remote session. On-site visits are scheduled with you by phone or message. Call 1800 69 00 81 or message us through the website and we will give you a realistic time.
Both. Many small businesses use ad-hoc support until they are ready for a Managed IT package. If you find you are calling us often, we will tell you honestly when Managed IT would work out cheaper.
Yes. Every invoice, including ad-hoc jobs, counts toward your yearly spend and your time with us, which decides your Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum tier. Pensioner Concession Card holders get Gold, a 5 percent discount, on residential services from the first job.
Smart lighting · 6
Lighting you can dim, schedule and group into scenes from your phone, a voice assistant or the wall switch. Lights can come on at dusk, turn off when a room is empty or set a warmer level in the evening. It works with mainstream smart platforms rather than locking you into one brand.
Usually not. Smart dimmers and relays fit behind your existing wall switches, so the switches still work the way everyone expects and the lights become controllable. Where fittings are old or not dimmable, we recommend LED replacements.
Residential pricing starts from a per-room rate on our Pricing page, and commercial sites are quoted per site. The written quote covers the devices, installation and setup, with no hidden fees.
Licensed electricians. In Western Australia work on light switches and circuits must be done by a licensed electrician, and Metroway holds an electrical contractor licence, so the install is done and certified by our electricians or our licensed partner contractors.
Yes. The wall switches keep working and local automations continue. You lose phone control from outside the home until the connection returns.
Yes. Lighting, climate and energy monitoring can share one platform, so a single away scene turns off the lights, sets back the air-conditioning and cuts standby loads. Each solution you add with Metroway lifts your Metroway Rewards tier, and all of it arrives on one Metroway365 bill.
Multi-site networking · 6
Connecting several offices, stores, sites or depots so they behave like one network. Staff log in and reach shared systems the same way at every location, and you manage all sites from one dashboard. It uses site-to-site VPN or SD-WAN over the internet connections each site already has.
A site-to-site VPN is an encrypted tunnel between two locations. SD-WAN adds intelligence, steering traffic over the best available link and failing over automatically when an nbn or cellular connection drops. Smaller organisations often need only VPN. Larger or more critical ones benefit from SD-WAN.
Enterprise and government customers with more than one location in Western Australia or interstate, including those with remote or regional sites. If you have one site and remote workers, a standard business network with remote access is usually enough.
Each site is quoted individually and the central management and connectivity are quoted as a whole, fixed in writing. Pricing is standardised, with no hidden fees, and we offer a free consultation to scope it.
Yes. Metroway supplies business-grade nbn with service guarantee and 4G or 5G backup, so the links the network runs on come from the same team that manages the network. That means one point of contact when a site goes down and one Metroway365 bill for everything.
The same firewall rules, WiFi settings and access policies are pushed to every site from the central controller, so a new site is set up correctly from day one. Combined with Metroway EDR, MFA and patching, this supports the Australian Cyber Security Centre Essential Eight across the whole organisation.
Microsoft 365 and cloud solutions · 7
We are a Microsoft 365 provider. We set up email, shared files, Teams and SharePoint properly, migrate you from older mail and file servers, and handle the day-to-day administration and user changes afterwards. We can also host cloud file storage and servers for workloads that do not fit Microsoft 365.
Yes, this is common. We review how your tenant is set up, tidy the file structure and permissions, remove unused licences and secure the accounts. It is usually cheaper than starting again and staff keep the logins they know.
We copy your mail and files across in the background while you keep working, then switch over at an agreed time, usually overnight or on a weekend. Nothing is deleted from the old system until you have confirmed everything is there. Staff get a short briefing on what changes for them.
Licences are priced per user per month with starting-from prices on our Pricing page. Setup and migration are quoted fixed in writing based on how many users and how much data you have. Ongoing administration is included in Managed IT or available on its own.
Most small and medium businesses no longer do. Email, files and collaboration move to Microsoft 365, and any remaining line-of-business application can be hosted in the cloud or on a small server we manage. We work out which applies to you before recommending anything.
Microsoft offers Australian data residency for the core Microsoft 365 services and we set tenants up that way, and the cloud hosting we provide is Australian as well. For government and regulated customers we document this and align the setup with the Australian Cyber Security Centre Essential Eight.
Yes. Microsoft 365, Metroway nbn, VoIP phones, Teams calling and the cabling that connects them can all come from one team on one Metroway365 bill. It removes the back-and-forth between providers when something is not working, and every extra solution lifts your Metroway Rewards tier.
Email and Microsoft 365 security · 6
We harden your Microsoft 365 tenant so it is far harder to break into or impersonate. That includes multi-factor authentication on every account, phishing and spoofing protection for your domain, conditional access rules that block risky sign-ins, and a review of the settings Microsoft leaves open by default.
Not as secure as it can be. A new tenant allows sign-ins from anywhere, often without MFA, and does not publish the email authentication records that stop criminals sending mail as you. Most business email compromise cases we see involve a tenant that was never hardened. Fixing that is quick and does not disrupt your staff.
It filters emails that impersonate your staff, your suppliers or well-known brands, and it publishes SPF, DKIM and DMARC records so other mail servers reject fakes sent in your name. No filter catches everything, which is why we combine it with MFA and conditional access so a stolen password alone is not enough to get in.
Done well, no. With conditional access, staff on trusted devices in the office are rarely prompted, while a sign-in from an unknown device or country is challenged or blocked. We set it up, help each person enrol and handle the questions on the day.
It is priced per user per month, with starting-from prices on our Pricing page and a fixed quote in writing before we start. Some controls use Microsoft licences you may already have, so we check what you have first rather than selling you more.
Metroway is a Microsoft 365 provider, so we can supply the licences, migrate your mail, secure the tenant and back it up as one job on one Metroway365 bill. MFA, patching and backups are three of the Australian Cyber Security Centre Essential Eight, and having them all with one team means nothing falls between providers.
Remote support · 6
You call or message us, we send you a link, and you approve a secure screen-sharing session so our technician can see and fix the problem on your computer. You stay in control and can end the session at any time. Nothing is installed permanently unless you ask for it.
Most everyday problems: software errors, email and Microsoft 365 issues, printer setup, slow computers, updates, account and password problems, and most WiFi settings. Windows, macOS and mobile devices are supported. If something needs hands on the hardware, we will say so and arrange an on-site visit.
Residential customers pay $33 per 15 minutes inc GST with a 30 minute minimum, so $66 to start. Businesses pay $44 per 15 minutes inc GST with the same minimum, so $88. Remote support is included in Managed IT packages at no extra charge.
Yes. Sessions are encrypted, you approve each connection and can see everything the technician does, and access ends when the session ends. We never ask for your passwords to be read out, and we will never call you unexpectedly asking for access. If anyone does, hang up and call us on 1800 69 00 81.
If your computer cannot get online we can often talk you through the basics by phone, and if you have a Metroway nbn or mobile service we can check it from our side. If the fault is in your router, cabling or the nbn connection, we arrange an on-site visit or a replacement so one team handles both the IT and the connection.
No. Anyone in Western Australia can book a one-off remote session at the published rate. If you later add other Metroway services, they all appear on one Metroway365 bill and your discounts grow with each one.
Climate control · 6
Controlling your ducted or split-system air-conditioning from your phone, with schedules and room-by-room settings. You can cool the house before you get home, stop the spare room being conditioned all day and see what the system is doing. It works with most major air-conditioning brands.
In most cases, yes. Many ducted systems accept a smart controller and split systems can be controlled through an adapter. We confirm the make and model on a site visit before quoting, and tell you plainly if yours is not suitable.
It depends on how the system is used now. The savings come from conditioning only the rooms in use, running schedules instead of leaving it on, and catching a system left on by mistake. Pairing it with Metroway energy monitoring shows the actual figures.
Residential installs have a starting-from installed price on our Pricing page, and commercial sites are quoted per site. The quote is fixed in writing before any work and there are no hidden fees.
Often. Controllers and zone motors connect to the air-conditioner wiring, and in Western Australia that work must be done by a licensed electrician. Metroway holds an electrical contractor licence, so our electricians or our licensed partner contractors do that part of the job.
Yes. Climate control sits alongside Metroway smart lighting, cameras, access and energy monitoring, with scenes that work across all of them. Taking more than one solution with Metroway raises your Metroway Rewards tier and keeps everything on one Metroway365 bill.
Backup · 6
Microsoft keeps your service running but does not promise to recover a file you deleted months ago, a mailbox from a departed staff member or data encrypted by ransomware. A separate backup keeps daily copies in another place for as long as you decide. The same applies to computers and servers.
Computers, servers and Microsoft 365, including mail, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams. Backups run daily, copies are encrypted and stored off-site in Australia, and we check that they completed. For homes this usually means the family computer and photos. For businesses it means everything you would need to reopen after a fire or a cyber attack.
We test restores. A backup that has never been restored is a hope, not a plan, so we run periodic test restores and tell you the result. If you have Managed IT, the status appears in your monthly report.
Residential backup is priced per device per month and business backup per user per month. Current rates are on our Pricing page and depend on how much data you keep and for how long. There are no fees to restore your own data.
A single file or mailbox is usually back within the hour once you contact us. A whole computer or server takes longer and depends on how much data there is and how fast your connection is. We talk you through the realistic time before we start rather than quoting a number here.
Backup is bundled into some Managed IT packages and can be added to any of them, and the Pricing page shows which. Taken on its own, it still goes on your Metroway365 bill and counts as another solution toward your Metroway Rewards tier. Regular backups are one of the Australian Cyber Security Centre Essential Eight.
Energy monitoring and saving · 6
Live and historical power use for each circuit in your switchboard, so you can see what the air-conditioning, hot water, pool pump or workshop actually costs to run. It also shows solar generation and battery flows if you have them, so you can run heavy loads when the sun is paying for them.
Automations switch off standby loads overnight, run the pool pump or hot water when solar is generating, and alert you when something is drawing power it should not. Combined with smart climate control and lighting, the savings compound. We set the rules up with you and adjust them after the first month.
Homes with high bills or solar, businesses wanting to cut running costs, and enterprise and government sites that need to report on energy use. For commercial sites it also helps catch equipment faults early, because a motor drawing more than usual shows up before it fails.
Residential installs have a starting-from installed price on our Pricing page, and commercial and enterprise sites are quoted per site according to the number of circuits. The quote is fixed in writing with no hidden fees.
Yes. Monitoring clamps are fitted around the circuits in the switchboard, which is licensed electrical work in Western Australia. Metroway holds an electrical contractor licence, so our electricians or our licensed partner contractors do the install and can tidy or upgrade the board while they are there.
